Applying past knowledge to new situations

My understanding of this habit is being able to use my past knowledge to help me understand or improve in a new similar situation.

"I've never made a mistake. I've only learned from past experience." (Thomas Edison)

Example:

When we were learning the Stoichiometry unit, we received a whole packet about Stoichiometry in Chemistry, then I flipped the pages and quickly saw the equations such as n=M/n, which means moles=mass/molar mass.Because I learned this concept in Lab science 10,so I quickly used my past knowledge to understand this equation, and able to use it in the later questions. Be able to apply my past knowledge can help me a lot because we should always learn our mistakes from the past, and those mistakes can help us or give us some ideas on solving similar problems.
